Merlin VA — Refund Policy

Version 2.0 — effective 28 August 2026

The short version

Merlin VA is not refundable. Your Licence Key is issued the moment your payment clears, and at checkout you ask for that immediate delivery and acknowledge that it ends your right of withdrawal.

So read before you buy, not after. What Merlin can and cannot do is set out in plain language on merlinva.com — including a section listing the things it will not do and why. Most of those are limits in DaVinci Resolve's scripting API rather than in Merlin, and none of them are hidden. The requirements below are real requirements, not suggestions.

If anything on this page or that one gives you doubt, do not buy. Email [email protected] and ask first; a question costs nothing and a purchase is final.

1. No refunds

Once a Licence Key has been issued, the purchase is final. We do not offer refunds for change of mind, for a workflow that turned out not to suit you, or because the Software declined to do something you hoped it would.

This is the ordinary position for software that is delivered instantly and cannot be returned: once the key is in your hands, it cannot be taken back.

2. Your right of withdrawal, and why it ends at checkout

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. Digital content is different: that right ends once delivery begins, provided you asked for it to begin and were told you would lose the right.

Both of those happen at checkout, and neither is buried. You tick a box that reads, in full:

> I ask for my licence key to be delivered immediately, and I acknowledge > that by doing so I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal and that this > purchase is not refundable.

You cannot reach the payment screen without it. That is the legal basis for this policy — Article VI.53, 13° of the Belgian Code of Economic Law, which implements Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU.

If you would rather keep the withdrawal right, do not buy. The waiver is a condition of purchase, because the product is delivered in full the instant you pay.

3. What we do fix

A no-refund policy is not a refusal to stand behind the Software.

of your purchase; it is a payment that should never have been taken.

no fault of yours, we will refund you.

Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law that cannot be waived by agreement, including your rights where the Software is genuinely faulty rather than merely unsuited to you.

4. Things that are not defects

These are stated before purchase, on this page and on merlinva.com. Check them against your own machine and workflow first.

would cover a Windows build if and when one ships, with no date promised. You are buying the macOS Software.

5. Chargebacks

Please email [email protected] first. If something is genuinely wrong we would rather fix it than have it decided by a bank months later.

A chargeback raised to reverse a purchase you made knowingly, after acknowledging it was final, is a breach of the Licence Agreement, and the Licence Key concerned may be deactivated.

Note that Stripe, trading as Link is the merchant of record and processes payments under its own terms. Requests made to Link support are decided by them, not by us, and Stripe may issue a refund within 60 days of a transaction in certain cases. Where those terms oblige it to refund a transaction, it may do so regardless of this policy.

6. Upgrades

A paid upgrade to a future Major Version is covered by this same policy. Declining an upgrade never affects the version you already own, which keeps working perpetually.
